![]() The Samaritan Foundation was founded by Elio Madonia, a retired Toronto businessman, on vacation, with his wife, in the Dominican Republic. What he witnessed there moved within him compassion to make a difference in the lives of the poor and impoverished.
“I was strolling, “ he remembers, “along the streets of a small town called Sosua, near Puerto Plata, when I was struck by the extreme poverty of the houses in the area. Those weren’t even houses, they were little more than shelters, roughly built, with no water, no lighting, with earthen floors. It was squalid. I felt the Lord telling me: ‘What will you do for these people?’ It was a lightning bolt. I answered: ‘My Lord, I’ll give them a house’.” Mr. Madonia visited the mayor of the town and with his help, acquired some property on which he began constructing a small village in the periphery of Sosua. This first village, Maranatha, provided homes for the families he had visited on that first day. To-date, the Foundation is building its 10th village representing over 1200 homes, 11 churches, 6 schools, 5 medical clinics and several sport facilities. Over five years ago, John and Jane Huizinga felt the call of God to leave the comfort of their home in Hamilton Ontario, Canada, to work alongside Elio Madonia and The Samaritan Foundation on a full-time basis. John Huizinga has recently been appointed to the position of Mission Director in Dominican Republic. |
![]() Next Level International is a registered charity in the United Kingdom, Canada, and United States.. We are a missions organization that connects local churches around the world with different projects in Europe. We are official partners with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Our partners are churches from all over the globe.
Our mission at NLI is simply this, to “Empower a whole new generation of leaders to equip, transform and expand the Church in Europe.” This is achieved through catalytic partnerships and by developing leaders. It involves moving a concept from idea to execution and implementation; growing faith and obedience in our God who will release provision to complete the task; going beyond personal prejudice to see what God wants to do. |
ISRAEL
The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem was stablished in 1980 in recognition of the biblical significance of all of Jerusalem, and its unique connection with the Jewish people of Israel. Today it represents millions of Christians, churches and denominations to the nation and people. We recognize in the restoration of the State of Israel God's faithfulness to keep His ancient covenant with the Jewish people. |
HAITI
![]() “It all started with five tents pitched under a grove of coconut trees. The year was 1983 and the tents belonged to George and Jeanne DeTellis, who had left the United States after 25 years in the pastorate to pioneer New Missions in Haiti.
A banner hanging nearby read, “Haiti: Hope in God.” Who could have imagined how God would bless such humble beginnings! Today, those five tents are a distant memory. Now in Haiti, New Missions has 26 churches, a medical clinic, 26 elementary schools, a High School, a Bible college, business school, and a Missions Training Center for hosting visiting teams. Each day over 10,000 children attend school, receive a hot meal, medical care, school books, school uniforms, and the opportunity to hear the Gospel message of Hope that changes lives.” |
PHILIPPINES
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
![]() Luis Antonio Velarde and his wife Adeline Oh are missionaries in the Dominican Republic. Their mission is to :
- Seek out creative ways to share the gospel. - Raise up people of faith who share our vision and who will walk with us. - Seek out new/non-traditional places where no one generally goes to build relationships and share the gospel. - Not only share the gospel but get people discipled, in Puerto Plata and the entire DR After much prayer and with clear confirmation, we have a peace that the Lord is calling us to start a church. The area that keeps getting highlighted to us is Puerto Plata (POP), the 3rd largest city in the DR. The Lord has been giving us different and creative ways of reaching out to people to build relationships. We have been going to the public state run hospital every week to pray for and minister to the patients and discipling those who choose to follow the Lord; prayer walking; and playing chess with locals at the parks. Luis will also start going to the POP police station to pray and share devotionals with the police in the mornings. The purpose for all that we are doing is to eventually raise up people of faith and start a church that is missional and creative in its nature to produce leaders of the Word of God who will gain more disciples. |
